Traveling with Toddlers
Pack your bags - we'll take care of the rest for you
Traveling with a toddler - to some, that sounds like an adventure; to others, a logistical challenge. And to be honest: it’s both. A packed stroller, the favorite pacifier - which, of course, you forgot at home - and a child who, at the worst possible moment, suddenly isn’t hungry anymore… or maybe they are. That’s exactly what family travel feels like. And that’s exactly what makes it so special.
Because when you’re on the go, moments arise that will stay with you for a long time. That first sense of wonder at a new environment. The little hand that holds yours tightly when things feel unfamiliar. Exploring together, taking breaks, improvising, and sometimes just taking a deep breath when things don’t go according to plan.
To make sure you’re fully prepared and can start your family trip feeling relaxed, we’ve put together everything you really need right here. From a smart travel checklist to meal suggestions and tips on how to handle car rides - step by step, without stress.
Checklist: Packing a Suitcase with a Toddler
Before the vacation even begins, the real adventure often starts with packing. Anyone who’s ever realized their child’s favorite pacifier is missing only after arriving at the hotel knows this: a good checklist isn’t overkill - it’s the key to a stress-free trip. Here’s the smart version for families with toddlers:
Clothing & Sleep
- Clothing appropriate for the weather (+1 extra day’s worth as a backup)
- Pajamas & sleeping bag (familiar scent = easier to fall asleep)
- Sun hat & light jacket
- Swimwear & UV-protective shirt
Food & Drink
- Favorite water bottle or sippy cup
- Bib & travel cutlery set
- Small snacks for on the go
- Alete milk-and-cereal meals for on the go: they don’t need to be refrigerated, making them ideal for travel - just pour them into the training cup and you’re good to go
- Alete children’s meal for the first meal on the day of arrival - heats up in the microwave in 2 minutes
Health & Wellness
- Sunscreen (SPF 50 or higher for toddlers)
- Wound protection cream & wet wipes
- Thermometer, nasal spray, fever suppositories
- Supply of diapers (calculate the amount you’ll need in advance + a little extra)
- Favorite soap / shower gel (a familiar scent helps with settling in)
Play & Comfort
- 1–2 favorite toys (no more - less is more)
- Stuffed animal or comfort blanket
- A small picture book for quiet moments
Organization & Safety
- Health insurance card + immunization record
- Emergency numbers saved (including at your destination)
- Travel documents for all family members
